About the Memorial
Remembering September
On September 8, 2024, the youth of Nepal — Generation Z — took to the streets. They came with nothing but their voices and their conviction that the country deserved better. Students, workers, ordinary citizens united by a shared demand for accountability.
By September 9, fire had consumed what the protest had built. Flames tore through neighborhoods, lives were lost in the chaos, and a nation watched in horror as the very people who stood for change became its casualties. The embers of September still burn in our memory.
